Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Johannesburg
Begin this amazing adventure in South Africa's bustling commercial city. For those who arrive early, a visit to the Apartheid Museum is highly recommended.

Days 2-3 -  Kruger National Park
Travel the famous Panorama Route and take in the rugged views from the breathtaking Blyde River Canyon. In the Kruger National Park, enjoy a first thrilling chance to sight the iconic Big Five on a full day's game drive through the golden grasses. Search out predators on an optional night time safari or for a different perspective head out on foot for an early morning guided game walk.

Day 4 - Hlane Royal National Park
It's only a short drive to the tiny landlocked kingdom of Swaziland, near the slopes of the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains. Get a taste of local life and explore the lively market. Then, visit a candle making factory that provides valuable employment to local women. For a change of pace take an exciting walking safari in the Hlane Royal National Park to spot white rhinos at eye level.

Days 5-6 - Mozambique Beach Camp
Head to the coast and hit the beach. There are plenty of optional activities on offer at this relaxed beachside camp. Go scuba diving or snorkelling to discover colourful underwater worlds, head out on a boat cruise to spot dolphins or stay onshore and explore vibrant markets. There's also plenty of time to relax on the beach or wash down fresh seafood with a chilled local beer.

Day 7 - St Lucia Estuary
Return to South Africa for a game drive through the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. This is the country's oldest reserve and encounters with both the critically endangered black and white rhinos are not uncommon. Keep an eye out for the rest of the Big Five as well: lions, leopards, elephants and cape buffalo all reside here.

Day 8 - Durban
There's an option to spot wildlife from the water on a boat cruise. Search out hippos, crocodiles and a wide variety of bird life. The trip ends in South Africa's seaside playground. Stay a little longer to enjoy its glamorous social scene or explore the juxtaposition of Muslim and Hindu architecture in the city colourful Indian quarter. Be sure to take a walk along the Golden Mile, a stretch of beach bordered by attractive beachfront shops and restaurants.
