The Bazaruto Archipelago boasts some of the finest saltwater fly fishing in the world. Salt water fly fishing is popular onboard a yacht, the mainland and from the islands beaches, particularly off sandbars produced by the high tidal range. Most commonly encountered are kingfish (including Giant Trevally) king and queen mackerel, kawakawa and springer. Fly fishers will also find the sought-after bonefish in the area – infact the islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago have a growing reputation for the world’s largest bonefish!
DAY 1- VILANCULO TO MARGARUQUE ISLAND Arrive in Vilanculo, meet and greet assstance at airport and transfer to yachts. Briefing and set sail for Bazaruto Archipelago. Depending on arrival time / departure same afternoon and fish while underway to overnight anchorage. Overnight Margaruque Island. Snorkeling at reef, fishing, and walks on the island.(L, D)
DAY 2 - BAZARUTO ISLAND Wake-up to coffee / tea and a light snack before snorkeling along side the coral reefs. Return to breakfast and then another swim. Next motor out too sea for game fishing. Stop over at Bazaruto island for overnight anchorage. (B, L, D)
DAY 3- ST. CAROLINA ISLAND Rise to coffee / tea and breakfast. Swim, and walk on the beach. Depart for St. Carolina island. Enjoy Game fishing while underway. Explore St Carolina and the majestic ruins on the island. Snorkel alongside the coral reefs surrounding the island or eat oysters off the rocks. (B, L, D)
DAY 4 - BENGUERRA ISLAND Rise to coffee / tea and swim & breakfast. Depart after breakfast to Benguerra island. Have lunch at Benguerra, with picnic basket on beach, swim, relax. Visit two mile reef later on. (B, L, D)
DAY 5 - BENGUERRA ISLAND Rise to coffee / tea and swim. Breakfast. Take a guided tour of the island with one of the locals and view the islands history, as well as the crocodile infested lake hidden in the center of the island. Drinks at Benguerra Lodge, at the beach bar. (B, L, D)
DAY 6 - MARGARUQUE ISLAND Rise to coffee / tea and swim and then breakfast. Depart to Margaruque and fish while underway to overnight anchorage. Overnight Margarueq Island. Snorkeling at reef, fishing, and walks on the island. (B, L, D)
DAY 7 - VILANCULO Rise to coffee / tea and breakfast. Depart for deathmans sand bank. Stop over and swim at the tiny islet. Overnight anchorage at Vilanculo, go for drinks at one of the local bars on the mainland. (B, L, D)
DAY 8 - DEPARTURE Rise to coffee / tea and breakfast. Swim & then pack. Take trip to mainland for souvenirs. Depart at 11pm. (B)
