The Bazaruto Archipelago is deservedly known as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean". The island of Bazaruto is undoubtedly a beautiful and unexplored destination, characterized by its wildlife, turquoise waters and idyllic beaches. Part of the island is composed of enormous sand dunes, while the remainder of the island is thicket, grassland, scrub and wetland. Thick forests of casuarinas, coconut palms and cashew nut trees grow on its shores. Marine species include dolphins, dugongs, humpback whales, marine turtles and the freshwater lakes in the area are home to crocodiles.

DAY 1 JOHANNESBURG TO BAZARUTO ARCHIPELAGO
Fly from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport to Vilanculos Airport with Air Mozambique (LAM). Guests are also able to fly into Vilanculos with Pelican Air. Our team of expert consultants can advise you on the specific schedules of both airlines. On arrival in Vilanculos, be met by a hotel representative. Transfer by light aircraft from Vilanculos to Bazaruto Island. This scenic flight will provide for good views of this beautiful archipelago.
DAY 2 - 5 BAZARUTO ISLANDS
The beautiful four-star Pestana Bazaruto Lodge is the ideal getaway - a true African Island dream destination. It is the perfect base from which to explore the island of Bazaruto. Spend your time doing activities, such as diving, snorkeling, and fishing, or enjoy a traditional dhow cruise while watching the sunset. (B,L,D)
DAY 6 - BAZARUTO ISLANDS TO JOHANNESBURG
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge’s beach front restaurant. Depart Bazaruto Island and transfer by air back to Vilanculos. Fly from Vilanculos Airport to Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport. (B)
