interiors all overlooking sandy beaches. Some call Azura the most
elegant beach lodge on all of the Archipelagos. The accommodation is
beautiful and marries perfectly with the environment. Azura is a place
of incredible beauty where sunsets, private dinners and great service
will be remembered.
The rooms are private and have bath-tubs big enough for two as well as outside showers. Comfortable beds and sliding doors leading onto an intimate deck and sala (beach bed) where you can enjoy stretching views from the infinity pool to the wide ocean. In the evening, beautiful starry skies are dotted with constellations, shooting stars and a riveting milky way.
Azura’s bar area and stylish lounge, combined with outdoor decks and chill room creates a relaxed atmosphere where you can expect the ultimate holiday environment. The chill room has internet access and a large flat-screen television. The curio shop supplies basic necessities as well as hand-picked African curios, clothes and art. Enjoy massages and treatments in the recently finished spa. The lodge has a dive centre with a dive pool where you can practice before taking on the open waters. Otherwise enjoy a work-out in the gym or spend time in the fishing centre.
This is a luxury lodge, but if you are looking for something developed and commercial this island is not for you.
The lodge is one of the few that has actually taken cognisance of the local people and has been built with that in mind. Expect a quiet and relaxing getaway where all you need to do is focus on feeling the tension slip from your fingers.

Breakfast consist of tea and coffee and a smoothie accompanied by a selection of cereal and yogurts or a full breakfast. Lunch starts with a light starter followed by a choice of two mains. Main meals usually have a fish and non-fish option and are followed by pudding. Dinner is another three course meal with a choice of starter and two mains and ended off with dessert.

Soft drinks, local spirits and beers, house wine and bottled water are included at Azura and is served in the Star Bar. Any other wines, premium brand drinks or specially imported items will be charged for. The tap water here is drinkable but bottled water is provided in the rooms.

Fly with Pelican Air from Johannesburg. The flight takes around 2 hours after which you board a smaller plane or helicopter (at extra cost) for a 15 minute trip to Benguerra airstrip. Here you will be picked up by Azura’s 4x4 for a 10 minute road trip to the lodge.
