Chitengo Safari Camp accommodation consists of 9 modern and comfortable double rondavels (circular cabanas) located in a tranquil area of the Safari Camp. Each cabana contains 2 single beds or a double bed. They are kitted out with mosquito netting, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and thatch chairs. Cabanas have their own porches, private bathrooms and comfy beds.
Alternatively choose to stay in the camp site with communal bathrooms, showers, barbeque facilities, washing area and covered gazebo.
The park has spectacular scenery with a variety of ecosystems and wildlife unmatched anywhere in Africa. Some of the fauna and flora in this area can't be found anywhere else on earth.
Game drive roads around Chitengo camp can be accessed by a 4x2 high clearance or 4x4 vehicles during the winter season. Knowledgeable and friendly guides will take you through the park and share their knowledge of the fauna and flora. This spot is perfect for the discerning and knowledgeable traveler.

Flights from Johannesburg to Maputo on SAA and LAM (Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique) and connecting flights from Maputo to Beira and Chimoio on LAM depart daily. Direct flights from Johannesburg to Beira on LAM and SA Airlink also depart daily. From Lisbon (Portugal) TAP and LAM fly directly to Maputo several days per week. Gorongosa National Park’s Chitengo Safari Camp is 200 km (about a 3-hour drive) from the airport in Beira. Chitengo is 135 km (about a 2-hour drive) from Chimoio.
For private air charters there is a licensed airstrip at Chitengo Safari Camp, with a landing length of 1200 meters of hard earth. Advanced notification and authorization by the aeronautical authorities is required (from December to April the airstrip is closed due to the rains).
