Overview

The district boasts one of the largest plantations of palm trees worldwide and this vegetation combined with the endless pristine beaches, soft sea breezes and sparkling clear ocean give this stretch of the peninsula a rare taste of that balmy island fever.

Montanha Lodge offers a choice of comfortable fully equipped, self-catering 2-4 sleeper casitas, 4-6 sleeper or 6-8 sleeper privately owned chalets for holiday rentals.
The casitas comprise an en-suite bedroom, open plan kitchen/lounge with 2 sleeper beds and a patio for dining.

Directions

Montanha Lodge is situated in Ponte de Barra, Inhambane, Mozambique approximately 480 kilometers (6-7 hours drive) from Maputo. The road from Maputo to Xai-Xai is good and has recently been re-surfaced. However, heading North after leaving Xai-Xai the road has not yet been upgraded and is badly potholed for approximately 60-80kms. Speed limits are enforced in the numerous towns and speed traps by radar are frequent and immediately payable in cash. Avoid driving at night on these roads - besides the potholes - many local vehicles do not have front or rear lights.
