Approximately 17 000 sq kilometres, the kingdom is bordered by the Republic of South Africa to the north, south and west and by Mozambique in the east and has a population of just over 1 million.
DAY 1 - Mantenga Cultural Village Tour guide to meet clients at the foyer of their Maputo hotel.
Visit the Manzini Market, Mantenga Craft Centre, Guava Gallery to view Swazi jewellery and art. Then on to Mantenga Cultural Village where you will study the history and culture of the legendary Swazi Nation. To the beat of echoing cowhide drums, traditional Swazi dancing is performed by a talented group of dancers in a nearby boma. An optional short walk can be taken to the waterfall with bird and wildlife. Continue towards Swazi Candle Factory where clients can view the art of candle making. Visit the art and craft attractions at the Malandela’s Homestead after which you will make the return journey home. Lunch is either at Malandela’s or at the Candle Factory. (L)
