Nacala is situated on the coastline of the Indian Ocean in the Nampula’s province. Nacala is located along the Indian Ocean, 160 km (100 mi) northeast of Nampula and 60 km (40 mi) north of Ilha de Moçambique. A single tarmac road leads to Nampula, where a small airport is located. Nacala has three main areas to explore - the Ilha de Mocambique, La Varanda Nature Reserve and the Baixo do Pinda Peninsula.
Visit Stone Town where old trading houses, charges and hospitals have
been beautifully restored.
Sandy tracks lead to isolated villages and this area is completely
unspoilt where you can expect miles of unblemished beaches and coral
reefs that has not yet been dived. South of Ilha de Moçambique La
Varanda and a ten minute boat ride, is a privately owned nature reserve
that encompasses mangrove forests, dunes and white beaches.
You can also
enjoy snorkelling, dolphin and whale watching or go sea-kayaking,
fly-fishing or dhow sailing in crystal clear waters. With dramatic drop
offs only 200 meters from the beach, the Humpback Whales come very close
into the bay with their young. Cultural village visits are a must as
the inhabitants of villages lived in isolation for many centuries.
Nacala is a paradise on earth and a holiday here promises to be
everything but dull!
