If you are an adventurer and nature enthusiast then Tartaruga Maritima is the place for you! It is a luxury tented camp offering self-catering accommodation as well as comfort, privacy and tranquillity.
Tartaruga Maritima is an exclusive yet rustic retreat situated next to Ponta Malongane, just 16km from the South African boarder. Its preferred currency is ZAR (South African Rands).A 4x4 vehicle is needed to access the area; the surrounds are perfectly unspoiled with an undeveloped coastline and low population density. The region enjoys a sub-tropical climate, with most of the rainfall falling between December and March. The luxury tented camp is perfectly designed to blend into the adjoining coastal forest. The tents are housed on raised wooden platforms including veranda decks furnished with chairs and tables which offer a brilliant hideout for birding or just enjoying the tranquillity of the camp.
The accommodation consists of eight self-catering suites - five double tents, two three-bed tents and one three-bed log cabin. The interiors are luxuriously arranged with all the home comforts. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water, comfortable beds, mosquito netting, a discreet overhead fan as well as an electric kettle and coffee and tea-making tray. There are electric plug points for the use of the guests. For your peace of mind, all suites are equipped with in-room safes for the safe-keeping of cash, travel documents and other valuables.
