Matemo Island Resort is the largest island
lodge in the Quirimbas with 24 rooms. The resort sits on a coral cliff
above the sea and looks out onto a stunning stretch of beach. The lodge
is close to Pemba, in a pristine part of the Quirimbas.
Air-conditioned chalets are allotted along Matemo’s private beach. Each chalet has an ensuite bathroom and an outside shower and is built with thatch roofs to enhance the flow of air through these chalets. Rooms each includes satellite TV making this an ideal family resort. This resort is also livelier than other more romantic and secluded spots and children feel welcome and entertained.
Outdoor activities are ample and this includes access to various dive sites almost untouched and undamaged. If you’re a novice diver there are shallow reefs to explore, while more experienced divers can dive among deep coral drop-offs where turtles and large pelagic fish can be found.
The lodge and entertainment areas are spacious open sided buildings where you can relax and enjoy drinks at the bar or spend time in the swimming pool. Views are spectacular from anywhere in this resort and you can’t help but relax and distress while being surrounded by pristine natural beauty.
