Dugong Lodge is situated on the mainland of Mozambique and is a short
boat transfer from Vilanculos town. Dugong Lodge is located on the
water's edge in the Vilanculos Wildlife Reserve and Marine Sanctuary.
Dugong Lodge has 14 sea facing chalets with luxurious four poster beds with elegant mosquito netting, polished wooden floors and private decks, and an en-suite bathroom with a big bath and an outdoor shower. Some of the suites have self catering facilities. These suites are vast with a central lounge dining area opening onto a sundeck with a private plunge pool.
The main area has an extended jetty leading into the water and this is a perfect spot to enjoy sundowner cocktails. Drinks can also be enjoyed in the Island Bar next to the main infinity swimming pool.
Activities are possible here but the best reefs are distant. This does not deter visitors from enjoying tranquil trips on kayaks moored on the beach. We also suggest a trip through the mangroves in a traditional dhow (canoe). Boats can be hired for deep sea fishing excursions.

Book a daily flight from OR Tambo International to Vilanculos. You are then transported by minibus to a boat that will transfer you to Dugong Beach lodge in 45 minutes. Transfers must be booked at the time of making a reservation and are charged separately.
Visitors can also opt for a 10 minute flight to Dugong Beach Lodge air strip from where you will be transported by road to Dugong Lodge.
