100m from the beach on a coastal forest dune, ensuring a natural cool environment with beautiful beach- and sea views. All the buildings are build with cement, ensuring cool natural surroundings, finished off with reeds around the building for that rustic natural look.
The lodge is fumigated regularly to ensure a mosquito free environment.
Zona Braza Lodge has six casas, sleeping 4 persons per casa and 8 barracas, sleeping 2 persons each. The casas are ideal for a family of 4. The casa have one bedroom, bathroom with toilet, basin and shower, fully equipped kitchen (crockery, cutlery, pots/pans, fridge/freezer and gas stove) and the loft. The stairs to the loft is quite steep and is not recommended for elderly people or people with strains/disabilities.
There is a “stoep” with a built-in-braai and all casas have seaview. The casas have outdoor showers. All beds can be kingsize or single beds with white linen and square mosquito nets. This units are serviced daily by our trustworthy and friendly staff. The 8 barracas are suitable for a group of 2-16 people. There are 4 separate fully equipped outdoor kitchens/lapa's (crockery, cutlery, pots/pans, fridge/freezer and gas stove for the big kitchen and 2 plate stoves for the 3 smaller kitchens)
The big kitchen is equipped with 20 water/wine glasses, cups, plates, etc and with 2 fridge/freezers, 2 chest freezers and 2 fridges as well as a Built-in-braai. The 3 smaller kitchens have each their own fridge/ freezer facilities and including all crockery and cutlery with two plate stove and built-in-braai. All these kitchens are allocated as per booking – no sharing.
The barracas does not have their own bathrooms and must use the centrally located ablution, which are very clean and spacious. (4 toilets, 4 basin, 4 showers). All barracas, kitchens and bathrooms are fully serviced daily by our trustworthy and friendly staff. Outdoor shower is centrally situated for all to use.

- All units are self catering, bring your own food for the duration of your stay; Meat is scarce – vacuum pack and freeze before departure; Dishcloths, tablecloths and dishwashing liquid; Braai-rooster and firelighters; Bath and beach towels (towels are not supplied by us); Mosquito repellent Sandals and rock-shoes (hot sand and rocks);
- A light windbreaker or sweatshirt for the occasional chilly evenings;
- Snorkel, mask and fins;
- Medical aid kit;
- Camera;
- Gas bottle with skottel and gas light for emergencies;
- Torch – we have 24 hours electricity but anything can happen in Mozambique, be prepared;
- Optional items: a beach umbrella, ly-lo’s for lazing in the sun;
- Sun block is a must.

- Take the N4 towards Komatiepoort (Witbank, Nelspruit, Malelane, Komatipoort). Lebombo border into Mozambique. EN4 towards Maputo.
- 1st Tollgate, Moamba Plaza – mts95.00.
- On the double road towards Maputo you will get the first robot, turn left. (On your lefthandside SHOPRITE).
- 2nd Tollgate, Maputo Plaza – mts17.50 – don't take tag only lane at the tollgates.
- After this tollgate you take the Xai Xai off ramp to the left.
- You are on the EN1 North (Xai Xai road). You will drive through various small towns: Marraquenne, Manica, Palmeiras, 3 de Feverreiras, Magul, Mimbiri, Macia, Incaia, Chucumbane, Xai Xai.
- When driving through Xai Xai town, you will get the last petrol garage (Petro Moc) on your Left handside/ Right handside. From this point it is ± 40km to the turn off.
- You will drive through Chongoene, Nhamavilla and the last town, Chizavane.
- After ± 1km out of the town Chizavane, you will reach a dirt road. On the right, a ZONA BRAZA SIGN – 10KM.
- Turn right at this sign into the dirt road. You will drive ± 10km straight on this dirt road.
- When you reach the sign: Zona Braza 700m. turn Right at this sign and left to the next Zona Braza sign – 700m
- Follow this road straight until you get our gate entrance.
