Uembje Lagoon is wide and deep, perfect for water sports so it’s a good idea to take a boat to the lagoon mouth, explore the banks on a canoe or bring a jet ski for adrenalin fun. Quad bikes and 4×4 vehicles are the best means of transport for exploring the sandy dune environment around the lagoon. Most guests love snorkelling and watching whales and turtles. Serenity offers lessons in kiteboarding, knee-boarding, slalom and skiing!

Previously known as Sao Martinho, Bilene is a peaceful holiday town 180km north of Maputo and the beautiful and tranquil village of Nhabanga lies about 8 km away on the opposite side of the lagoon.  Serenity appeals to many visitors thanks to this remote setting accessible only by boat or 4×4 vehicle. The lodge boasts its own borehole with a water-filtration system and all units have electricity.

Getting to Serenity Lodge

Serenity can only be reached by 4 x 4 or similar high-clearance vehicle or by boat. The sand road to the resort is a 13 km stretch involving some sandy patches and beach driving.
