Romantic Valentine’s weekend breaks in Mozambique

Valentine’s Day falls conveniently over a weekend this year which will encourage couples to take a much-needed break in each others’ arms. Or will it? Maybe couples need some prodding? So why don’t you and your loved one take an early look at the special holiday deals offered by Mozambique to unique beach destinations where romance and solitude are the key attractions? This way we can convince you that you need this weekend away to reconnect!

Newlyweds can also use this opportunity to double the love and remember why they got married in the first place. Maybe one way to do this is to hark back hundreds of years ago to the amazing legend of St Valentine?

There was a priest called Valentine who served during the third century in Rome. Apparently, Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families so he forbid young men to marry so that they would be his soldiers.

Valentine felt that this was unjust so he went against the orders of Claudius and continued to secretly perform marriages for young lovers. When he found this out, Claudius ordered that Valentine be put to death.

While he was in prison, Valentine fell in love with a young girl and before he died her wrote her a letter signed “from your Valentine”. We still use this expression today when we send Valentines cards to those we love as a surprise! Mozambique can be your special Valentine gift this year when you take your partner to a luxurious Maputo hotel where you can relax in comfort and still have time to explore the local beaches and nightlife.
