Ilha de Mozambique Island Tours, Boat Trips and Portuguese Food

There is lots to do on the island including dhow trips and sunset cruises to the neighbouring beaches and atolls. Activities revolve around island tours on foot or on bicycle, boat trips around the old ruins and bays and delicious restaurant or street café meals. Tourists can make time to snorkel and kayak in crystal clean ocean bays. Don’t forget to visit the charismatic churches, mosques and numerous colonial buildings and small traditional houses – maintained and restored beautifully to house restaurants, guest houses and little shops.

Visit the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Baluarte, and the incredibly imposing Fortaleza São Sebastião which stands guard over the sea – two of the oldest buildings in the southern hemisphere! Photographic opportunities abound on this stunning little island – people and buildings, dhows and sunsets. The lifestyle is typically island-style slow and tropical with no hurry at all.
