Day 1

Arrival in the Okavango Delta

Your journey begins in Johannesburg with a scheduled flight to Maun, Botswana, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. From Maun you board a scenic light aircraft transfer to Camp Moremi in the wildlife rich Xakanaxa region of the Moremi Game Reserve.

After settling into your safari camp, enjoy your first game drive exploring floodplains, lagoons and woodland habitats where elephants, lions, leopards and antelope are frequently seen.

Day 2

Okavango Delta Safari Experience

Spend the day discovering the remarkable ecosystems of the Okavango Delta. Morning and afternoon game drives reveal a diverse landscape where permanent water channels meet seasonal floodplains.

Expect encounters with elephants, buffalo herds, giraffes and predators including lion and leopard. Boat safaris and bird watching add variety, making the Delta one of Africa’s richest wildlife destinations.

Days 3 to 4

Transfer to Xugana Island Lodge

A scenic boat transfer through winding Delta channels brings you to Xugana Island Lodge, located on one of the largest lagoons in the Okavango system.

Water based activities dominate this area. Glide silently through papyrus lined channels in a traditional mokoro canoe or explore wider lagoons by motorboat. Birdlife is exceptional, and the calm waters offer outstanding photographic opportunities.

Day 5

Return to Johannesburg

After a final morning safari activity, depart the Delta by light aircraft to Maun. From there you connect to Johannesburg where you overnight at The Peech Hotel before continuing your journey to Mozambique.

Day 6

Arrival on Benguerra Island

Fly from Johannesburg to Vilanculos on Mozambique’s Indian Ocean coast. From Vilanculos a scenic helicopter flight carries you across the turquoise waters of the Bazaruto Archipelago to Azura Benguerra Island.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing on the beach, swimming in the warm ocean or enjoying sunset views from your beachfront villa.

Days 7 to 9

Bazaruto Archipelago Island Experiences

These days are dedicated to enjoying the natural beauty of Benguerra Island and the surrounding Bazaruto Archipelago Marine Park.

Guests can explore coral reefs while snorkeling or scuba diving, sail traditional dhows across the lagoon or visit remote sandbanks for private beach picnics. Fishing enthusiasts can try deep sea fishing in waters known for marlin and tuna.

Departure

After breakfast, depart Azura Benguerra by helicopter transfer back to Vilanculos Airport for your onward flight via Johannesburg.
