We generally recommend at least four nights on an island. This gives you time to settle into the slower rhythm of the archipelago, enjoy marine activities and still have unstructured time beside the beach or private pool.

Five to seven nights works particularly well for honeymooners, long-haul travellers and guests following a busy safari. A longer stay also provides greater flexibility when ocean conditions affect diving, snorkelling or boat excursions.

Most international travellers fly to Vilanculos before transferring to their island lodge. The onward journey may be by helicopter, light aircraft or boat, depending on the property, weather and operating schedule.
