Just 80 meters from the high tide mark means you are literally in paradise whilst sitting on your villa veranda overlooking the Indian Ocean. Watch dhows built to ancient designs a thousand years old sail past in the afternoon breeze and enjoy year-round sightings of large flocks of flamingos. With just ten well-appointed rooms don’t expect crowds, rather personal and intimate service and attention to detail. Six of the rooms are especially equipped for couples wanting privacy. The additional four rooms accommodate two adults and one child comfortably. An additional bed can be provided for smaller children if needed.

All ten rooms at Villa Martins have air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. Drinking water is provided as well as a well-stocked tea and coffee station. Theres a great ala carte restaurant and bar that focusses on local dishes as well as international cuisine. If you don’t fancy a dip in the ocean there’s a beautiful pool to relax around and spend the afternoon chilling.

Getting to Inhaca and Villa Martins

• Villa Martins is easily accessed from Maputo and this should be your starting point for your holiday. Its an easy drive from South Africa via Kosi Bay on the new tar road, or from Komatipoort.
• There are numerous flights into Maputo daily from Johannesburg, a direct flight from Cape Town daily and some weekly international flight arrivals from Europe.
• The lodge operates one scheduled boat transfer a day that takes between 60 and 80 minutes and allows breathtaking views of the coastline and Maputo Bay.
• Please note that there is a single scheduled daily boat transfer from Villa Martins and one from Maputo Marina daily. Transfer times are tide dependent and cannot be altered at short notice. So be punctual and don’t miss the boat. Transfer times cannot be altered at short notice.
• Transfer times are scheduled at the time of reservation. When booking your flights try for morning arrivals to tie in with the scheduled boat transfer to Villa Martins.
• Private boat or light air transfers to Inhaca can be arranged by Mozambique Travel for an additional cost at the time of booking.
• Finally, please be aware on arrival at Villa Martins the boat will anchor in shallow water and guests will need to wade ashore in ankle deep water. Assistance can be provided to those who require help disembarking.
