Azura at Quilalea is a private Island Paradise and one of three luxury retreats from the Azura Retreats group. Situated in the Quirimbas Archipelago Marine Sanctuary, Azura Quilalea Private Island is surrounded by rich marine life and an untouched natural environment.
Not far from Pemba city on the mainland, Quilalea Island Resort is the head office of the Mozambique Quirimbas National Park which consists of 11 islands. Only some 86 acres in size, Azura Quilalea Private Island is inhabited solely by staff and guests at the lodge. Despite the solitude, the lodge is lavish with every mod con imaginable.
Five-star luxuries in three different villa types to captivate guests’ needs: four Kaskazi Villas with beach access, four Kusi Villa’s with select settings and the cliff top Villa Quilalea with a ladder leading down to the sea for snorkelling. Guests can also choose to book the entire island for complete privacy and fun.
All villas have been created from natural coral stone and makuti thatch and decorated with earthy materials. A green ethic at Azura Quilalea ensures as little impact on the island ecology as possible – wind generation, solar power, rainwater harvesting and rechargeable batteries save energy.
Committed personal Mozambican hosts look after guests daily and the main guest areas at Azura Quilalea are elegant and comfortable.
