Mozambique Lodges and Resorts
Compare our recommended Mozambique properties
Mozambique offers an exceptional range of island resorts, boutique beach lodges, private villas and safari camps. This page brings together the individual properties that Mozambique Travel currently recommends and sells.
Use the accommodation directory to compare properties, locations, room styles and indicative prices. Each listing links to a detailed property page covering accommodation, facilities, access and available offers.
If you have not yet decided which part of the country suits your holiday, begin with our guide to where to stay in Mozambique. Once you have chosen a region, this collection will help you compare the lodges and resorts available there.

How to Compare Mozambique Accommodation
A beautiful photograph cannot tell you whether a lodge will suit the way you travel. When comparing properties, consider the number of rooms, atmosphere, meal basis, room configuration and facilities.
A small lodge may provide privacy and personal service but fewer dining choices. A larger resort may offer several restaurants, children’s facilities and a broader activity program. A private villa can give families and groups valuable shared space, although the level of service varies between fully staffed and self-catering properties.
The correct choice depends on the experience inside the property, not simply its star rating.
Lodge, Resort or Private Villa?
Mozambique uses accommodation descriptions quite loosely, so the property name does not always reveal what guests should expect.
Lodges are generally smaller, with fewer rooms and a more personal atmosphere. Resorts usually provide more extensive facilities, such as multiple dining areas, activity centres, spas and children’s programs. Private villas offer shared living areas and greater independence, making them particularly useful for families and groups.
Safari lodges and camps are organised around guided wildlife experiences. Their rates and daily schedules may work differently from those of a conventional beach property.
Individual property pages should always be checked for the current room categories, occupancy rules and service basis.

Understanding Rates and Inclusions
Mozambique accommodation rates may be quoted per person sharing, per couple, per room or for an entire villa. A low-looking rate can become misleading when transfers, meals or essential activities are excluded.
Before comparing two properties, establish:
- Whether the rate is per person, room or villa
- Which meals are included
- Whether drinks are included
- Which activities are complimentary
- Whether transfers are included
- Whether park or conservation fees apply
- The child and family policies
- The deposit and cancellation terms
Prices displayed on this website are indicative unless stated otherwise. Rates change by season, market and room category. We confirm the full price and applicable inclusions for the requested travel dates before a booking is made.
Can You Book Accommodation Without a Package?
Yes. We can arrange accommodation only when travellers already have suitable flights and transfers.
For more complicated locations, it is often better to confirm the entire journey together. Island resorts may require helicopter or boat transfers, while remote mainland and safari lodges can involve domestic flights or specialist road transport.
Travellers looking for flights, transfers and accommodation in one offer can also review our Mozambique holiday packages.

Choosing the Right Room, Suite or Villa
Selecting the property is only the first decision. Room position and category can make a significant difference to privacy, views and ease of access.
We can help compare beachfront and elevated rooms, private-pool suites, family configurations, interconnecting accommodation and exclusive-use villas. We will also explain when an upgrade provides a meaningful benefit and when the lower category already offers everything required.
This is particularly important at properties where similarly named villas have different locations, occupancy limits or inclusions.
Property Advice Beyond a Booking Engine
Mozambique Travel has worked with the country’s accommodation providers for 25 years. Our knowledge is informed by direct property relationships, team visits, management updates and feedback from returning clients.
We monitor changes that may not be obvious from a booking screen, including refurbishments, new management, changes to room categories and revised transfer arrangements. Our client reviews also provide valuable insight into the properties and support received during a Mozambique holiday.
We use this information to help you compare a manageable selection rather than sending an indiscriminate list of available rooms.

Tell us who is travelling, your preferred dates, approximate budget, and the accommodation features that matter most.
We will identify the properties that fit those requirements, explain the relevant room categories and confirm the full price with its current inclusions. We can arrange the accommodation on its own or coordinate it with flights, transfers and a wider itinerary.

Frequently Asked Questions About Mozambique Lodges and Resorts
At Mozambique Travel, we welcome your enquiries. With 20 years of experience, our team ensures an amazing trip.
What is the difference between a lodge and a resort in Mozambique?
Lodges are generally smaller and more personal, while resorts tend to provide more facilities and dining choices. The terms are not used consistently, so travellers should compare the room count, service style and facilities of each property.
Are accommodation rates per person, room or villa?
The pricing basis varies. Rates may be per person sharing, per couple, per room or for exclusive use of a villa. The basis must be displayed beside every indicative price and confirmed again in the quotation.
What is normally included in a Mozambique lodge rate?
Depending on the property, a rate may include breakfast, full board, all meals, selected drinks and certain activities. Transfers, premium drinks, diving, fishing, spa treatments and conservation fees may cost extra.
Can I book a Mozambique lodge without flights?
Yes. Accommodation-only bookings are possible when flights and transfers have already been arranged appropriately. For remote or island properties, we recommend checking the complete journey before confirming the room.
Are lodge transfers included in the displayed rate?
Not necessarily. Some packages include road, boat or helicopter transfers, while accommodation-only rates may exclude them. Transfer inclusions must be checked for the selected property, rate and travel dates.
How do I compare room and villa categories?
Compare their position, size, occupancy, privacy, beach access and included facilities. Properties may use similar category names for rooms that provide materially different experiences.
How is lodge availability confirmed?
Availability must be requested from the property for the specific dates and room category. An accommodation listing on the website does not guarantee that rooms remain available.
Can Mozambique Travel find lodge offers that are not displayed online?
Yes. Properties sometimes release seasonal, resident, honeymoon or longer-stay offers that have not yet been added to the website. Eligibility, availability and terms must be confirmed before the offer is quoted.
