From Ponta do Ouro, the remaining journey to Ponta Malongane includes approximately six kilometers of sandy road. The resort specifies that a 4x4 is required for this final section, and tires must be deflated appropriately before leaving the tar.

Travelers should not confuse the improved regional road access with an entirely tarred journey to the resort. Vehicle suitability, border opening times, documentation and cross-border permission must all be checked before departure.

Guests without a suitable vehicle can fly into Maputo and arrange a road transfer to Sky Island. The actual transfer time depends on traffic, border-region road conditions and the stopping arrangements on the day.
