There is currently no dependable nonstop scheduled flight between Cape Town and Vilanculos. The usual journey connects through Johannesburg before continuing to Mozambique.

A same-day connection may work when the Cape Town departure, Johannesburg–Vilanculos flight and Azura helicopter schedule align. It should not be assumed. Mozambique Travel will check the complete journey for the actual travel date, including minimum connection times and helicopter availability. If the connection is too tight or unavailable, we will explain whether changing the date or adding a Johannesburg overnight is the more sensible option.

The itinerary should normally begin in Cape Town and finish through Johannesburg. After Azura, you can connect to an international departure from Johannesburg rather than returning unnecessarily to Cape Town.
