TRAVEL PACKAGE OVERVIEW
Northern Mozambique for Adventurous Families
This seven-night Coral Lodge international family package introduces families to a quieter and more culturally interesting part of Mozambique. It combines direct flights from Johannesburg to Nacala, coordinated road and boat transfers, spacious Family Villa accommodation, three meals daily and selected activities around the coast and Ilha de Moçambique.
Coral Lodge occupies a peaceful peninsula near Cabaceira Pequena, directly across the bay from historic Ilha de Moçambique. Families have the space and natural surroundings of a beach lodge without being separated from the culture, communities and history that make northern Mozambique so rewarding.
It is a strong choice for families who have already visited conventional beach resorts or want their children to experience more than a swimming pool and organised entertainment. Days can include snorkelling, paddling, exploring the shoreline, visiting a nearby community and learning about the history of Ilha de Moçambique.

Why Seven Nights Works for a Coral Lodge Family Holiday
A seven-night stay is more practical than the previous five-night package because direct Airlink flights between Johannesburg and Nacala operate on Mondays and Fridays. Families can travel Monday to Monday or Friday to Friday without introducing an unnecessary connection or awkward additional night.
The full week also allows families to balance activities with unstructured time. There is space for a guided Ilha de Moçambique experience, paddling and snorkelling in suitable conditions, and relaxed villa time without treating the holiday as a fixed daily programme.
Coral Lodge provides beach time without a busy resort environment. The value lies in personal space, a small lodge setting, meaningful cultural experiences and a travel plan that works around the limited flight schedule.

Choosing Between Coral Lodge’s Two Family Villas
Coral Lodge has two dedicated Family Villas: one facing the lagoon and another positioned towards the beach. Both provide considerably more space than a standard hotel room and include an additional bedroom intended primarily for children.
The Family Lagoon Villa faces west towards mangroves and calmer water. It offers sunset views, birdlife and a more sheltered atmosphere, often making it the better option for families with younger children or light sleepers.
The Family Beach Villa faces east towards the Indian Ocean. It provides sunrise views, cooling sea breezes and the sound of the waves. It suits families who want the strongest sense of being beside the ocean, although the surf may be audible at night.
The most suitable villa depends on availability, the children’s ages, sleeping arrangements and the family’s preference for sunrise, sunset or proximity to the ocean. Read more about the Family, Beach and Lagoon Villas at Coral Lodge.
Family Experiences Shaped Around the Coast and Ilha
Coral Lodge works well for families because activities can be balanced with unstructured time. Children do not need to follow an intensive programme, and parents can decide how active or relaxed each day should be.
Experiences may include guided exploration of Ilha de Moçambique, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkelling in suitable conditions, traditional dhow sailing, beach and tidal-area exploration, Mozambican cooking experiences, visits to Cabaceira Pequena, seasonal marine excursions, private family dining, and beach or island picnics.
All activities are subject to weather, tides, children’s ages and the lodge’s current operating arrangements. The lodge’s open design, dunes, ocean access and unfenced swimming pool mean younger children require active parental supervision.

International Travel Through Johannesburg and Nacala
Travel from Europe, the United Kingdom, North America, Australia or another African destination to Johannesburg, then continue to Nacala on the selected Monday or Friday service.
International arrivals should normally be scheduled with a sensible connection margin or an overnight stay in Johannesburg. Separate tickets and tightly timed same-day connections should be avoided.
After landing in Nacala, the family continues by arranged road transfer and boat to Coral Lodge. This is not a short airport transfer: journey times vary according to road conditions, tides and the selected arrival arrangement.
Mozambique Travel coordinates the international connection, regional flight, ground transfer and boat journey as one practical itinerary.
For Families Seeking Beach Time with Cultural Depth
This package is designed for international families who want a small and personal lodge, beach time without a busy resort environment, meaningful cultural experiences, space for parents and children, and a full week in northern Mozambique.
It suits families whose holiday can form part of a longer African journey and who value nature, coast and local culture more than waterslides, children’s clubs, shopping, nightlife or several restaurants.
Families primarily interested in walking around Stone Town may prefer Villa Sands. Coral Lodge is better for those wanting more beach, nature and private space, while still including a guided visit to Ilha de Moçambique.
Coral Lodge International Family Package Price and Availability
The previous R101,400 per-family-of-four price must not be used until the seven-night international family itinerary has been repriced. Your final rate will depend on the children’s ages, Family Villa availability, flights, airport taxes, transfers and travel dates.
Mozambique Travel will provide an accurate written quotation for two adults and two children sharing after confirming the full itinerary and applicable family arrangement.
