The safari portion includes four nights in an en-suite canvas tent at Chicari Camp, an intimate seasonal camp overlooking a natural pan inside Gorongosa National Park.

Five nights then follow at Bahia Mar Boutique Hotel in Vilanculos. The exact Bahia Mar room category must be confirmed before publication, as its Garden Suites, Sea View Bedrooms and Luxury Beach Suites differ in layout, outlook and price.

Gorongosa Wildlife and Bazaruto Waters

Shared safari activities at Chicari introduce guests to Gorongosa's wildlife and varied ecosystems. Depending on seasonal conditions, activities may include morning and afternoon game drives, guided walks and boating.

At the coast, travelers can explore the Bazaruto Archipelago or enjoy Bahia Mar's beach, pool and optional wellness facilities. A Bazaruto excursion should only be shown as included once its route, boat, equipment, meals and park fees are confirmed.

Fly From Safari to the Coast

The package uses scheduled internal air services to connect Beira, Gorongosa and Vilanculos. Air Gorongosa currently operates Beira–Gorongosa services on selected days and a Gorongosa–Vilanculos connection via Beira on applicable operating days.

Begin in Gorongosa, where mornings are shaped by wildlife, changing light and the rhythm of a working safari camp. Four nights provide several opportunities to explore without making the safari portion unnecessarily long.

Then change environments completely. Fly east toward Vilanculos and exchange canvas tents, game drives and early starts for five nights overlooking the Indian Ocean.

The safari comes first deliberately. Its structured days create the adventurous opening to the holiday, while Bahia Mar provides space to slow down afterward. Spend time beside the pool, head onto the water or simply leave part of the coastal stay unscheduled before beginning the journey home.

A researched base rate for this nine-night itinerary starts from approximately US$5,330 per person sharing, before any unconfirmed park levies, meal upgrades, Bazaruto excursion costs or supplier-specific additions.

The estimate uses Chicari Camp's published 2026 international rate of US$850 per person sharing per night, giving US$3,400 for four nights. Chicari's rate includes accommodation, meals, local beverages, scheduled safari activities, laundry, limited Wi-Fi and VAT. 

Current Air Gorongosa published seat-in rates add approximately US$320 pps from Beira to Gorongosa and US$910 pps from Gorongosa to Vilanculos via Beira. Bahia Mar's published 2026 Garden Suite rate starts at US$175 pps/night and its current offer provides one free accommodation night for stays of five nights or longer, producing approximately US$700 pps for the five-night accommodation component on a breakfast basis.
