Mozawi sits on the San Sebastian Peninsula within the Vilanculos Coastal Wildlife Sanctuary, across the water from Vilanculos. Private-Lodge Living That Works Better for a Group

Mozawi operates on a minimum daily lodge charge covering up to five adults, with occupancy supplements for additional adults and children. It should not be compared directly with a standard per-person hotel rate. Its value becomes increasingly compelling when the exclusive-use cost is shared by a properly sized family or group.

The lodge accommodates up to 12 guests plus small children, subject to approved rooming. Mozambique Travel will quote the complete group cost after receiving your dates, adult count, children’s ages and transfer preference, then show the resulting per-person cost clearly so the group can assess it fairly.

Six Private Suites with Space to Come Together

Mozawi has six individual ocean-view guest suites, allowing couples and generations to keep their own space while coming together around the pool, lounge, dining areas and beach. Selected suites may be configured with king or twin beds, subject to advance request and the lodge’s confirmed setup.

This arrangement suits grandparents travelling with adult children and grandchildren, groups of couples and friends who want a shared base without living inside one large villa. The final allocation must be confirmed for every group, particularly where small children, cots or room-sharing arrangements are involved.

The lodge is solar powered, and the suites use fans and natural ventilation rather than conventional air-conditioning. Guests who require air-conditioned bedrooms should take this into account before booking.

Time Together Without a Fixed Resort Schedule

Days at Mozawi can be as active or as unstructured as the group chooses. Guests can swim in the 18-metre pool, walk along the beach, take out the Hobie Cat or kayaks, read in the shade or gather for long meals without working around other hotel guests.

Exclusive use of the Hobie Cat and kayaks is included. One sandbank picnic is also included during the stay, creating a shared on-water experience without committing the group to a full-day excursion. Some guests can remain at the lodge while others arrange fishing, snorkeling, horse riding or a private massage.

Mozawi is private, but it is not an unlimited-activities package. Motorized watersports, longer motorboat journeys and specialist excursions are optional and carry additional costs.

Reaching Mozawi from Vilanculos

Guests fly into Vilanculos Airport, where the transfer team meets them for the short road journey to the boat departure point. The powerboat crossing to Mozawi generally takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes, depending on tides and the pickup location.

Boat transfers are not automatically included in this five-night package and must be quoted separately. A private helicopter transfer can also be arranged at additional cost. The flight takes approximately seven minutes and generally allows approximately 20 kilograms of checked luggage per person.

Arrival and departure times must work with flights, tides and safe boating conditions. Groups carrying fishing equipment, strollers, excess luggage or unusually large bags should notify Mozambique Travel before confirming the transfer.
