No Unnecessary Return to Johannesburg

On applicable operating days, the direct Kruger–Vilanculos service allows the journey to move from safari to beach without returning to Johannesburg between the two stays. This protects valuable holiday time and makes a compact six-night safari-and-beach itinerary practical.

The service operates only on selected days and can change seasonally. Mozambique Travel will match the Idube and asDunas dates to the confirmed flight schedule rather than reserving the two lodges independently.

The intended Idube accommodation is a Safari Suite with a private deck and pool, subject to confirmation. Couples requiring more space can request a Makubela Suite at an additional cost.

At asDunas, the intended Luxury Seaview Tented Safari Suite is a permanent luxury tented suite with a king-size bed, mosquito net, ceiling fan, Wi-Fi, private veranda, en-suite bathroom, sea view and private pool. Travellers who require air conditioning can request a Cottage Suite, while the larger Iconic Suite can be quoted as an upgrade.

Game Drives, Bush Walks and Daily Wellness

At Idube, morning and afternoon drives are led by experienced guides and trackers in the unfenced Greater Kruger ecosystem. Leopards are an important attraction in the Sabi Sand, alongside lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, wild dogs, antelope and birdlife. Guided bush walks may be available between drives, focusing on tracks, plants and smaller ecological details.

Selected-Day Flights Between Kruger and Vilanculos

After the final morning safari, guests transfer to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for the regional flight to Vilanculos on applicable operating days. After immigration, guests are met for the road transfer to asDunas. The complete regional routing begins and ends in Johannesburg, while long-haul international flights to and from South Africa are excluded.

If the direct Kruger–Vilanculos service is unavailable, Mozambique Travel will assess an alternative route through Johannesburg or recommend different dates. Flight schedules, road transfers, airport taxes, luggage allowances and exact operating times must be confirmed before the itinerary is finalised.

Choose this journey if you want private-reserve wildlife viewing followed by an intimate beach lodge rather than a large resort. It suits couples, honeymooners and travellers celebrating an anniversary or milestone, particularly those who have limited time or have already experienced Cape Town.

It is less suitable for families with younger children. Idube has its own minimum-age conditions, while asDunas accepts guests aged 12 and older and is adults-oriented rather than designed around children’s entertainment. Travellers primarily interested in diving, fishing or extensive island activities may prefer a Bazaruto lodge instead.
