Santorini is on the Vilanculos mainland and is reached by road from the airport, avoiding the helicopter or boat transfer required for a Benguerra Island stay. River Lodge Safari and Main Villa Suite Living

Lion Sands River Lodge sits on the banks of the Sabie River in the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve. The lodge has 18 rooms and a sociable, contemporary atmosphere, making it a strong option for first-time safari travellers and couples who value excellent guiding, a river setting and a full-service lodge experience.

At Santorini, guests stay in one of five individually designed Main Villa Suites. Each is air-conditioned with a private terrace overlooking Vilanculos Bay. Couples wanting more seclusion can request Villa Na Colina, a standalone suite with a private heated pool, ocean-facing terrace and secluded courtyard, quoted separately.

A Treehouse Night, Spa Ritual and Bazaruto Day

Lion Sands includes twice-daily game drives, selected drinks and guided bush walks when conditions and availability permit. The complimentary treehouse sleep-out offers an elevated night in the reserve, surrounded by its sounds and dark skies. It must be requested in advance and remains dependent on weather, safety, operating conditions and availability.

Santorini includes a 75-minute Signature Spa Treatment and a shared catamaran excursion to Bazaruto Island. Subject to tides and sea conditions, the catamaran day may include snorkeling at Two Mile Reef, a picnic on Bazaruto Island and a possible Pansy Island stop. National Park fees are excluded, and neither the spa treatment nor excursion can be exchanged for cash if conditions prevent them from operating.

From Sabi Sands to Vilanculos

Lion Sands River Lodge is conveniently placed for Skukuza Airport, but the direct regional service to Vilanculos operates from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport on selected days. When the schedule works, guests transfer by road from Lion Sands to KMIA before flying directly to Vilanculos.

Santorini is then reached by road in approximately 20 to 30 minutes. The direct flight avoids a return through Johannesburg and protects valuable holiday time, but it does not operate every day. Mozambique Travel will build the itinerary around the live flight schedule and quote an alternative Johannesburg routing when a same-day direct connection is not practical.
